Program Overview
Barbering is one of the oldest and most trusted specialties in the world of cosmetology. The art of barbering is enjoying a resurgence; men are looking for shops to cater to their style.
The Barber program will prepare students to earn a credential to begin a career in barbering. In the barber program, students will learn the skills necessary to cut, shape, style, and color hair, learn additional grooming techniques such as facials and shaving services, scalp treatments, and more.
Skills
Barber school provides students with the essential skills and professional foundation needed to thrive in the grooming industry. Through hands-on training, students learn core techniques such as fading, tapering, texturizing, scissor-over-comb, clipper-over-comb, beard design, and straight-razor shaving. They also study hair and scalp anatomy, sanitation protocols, and state board safety requirements to ensure every service is clean, safe, and consistent. Beyond technical ability, students develop strong communication and consultation skills, learning how to understand client needs and deliver high-quality results. Barber school also builds confidence, time management, customer-service skills, and business knowledge, including retail, shop etiquette, and social media presence. By graduation, students are fully prepared to step into a barbershop environment with the competence, professionalism, and creativity needed for a successful and rewarding career.
