Program Overview

Students entering the Collision Repair and Refinishing program of specialized automotive technology will study the technology of today's complex automobiles. Students will have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art equipment and the most updated curriculum, including ASE and I-CAR, to obtain the skills and knowledge needed to repair automobiles according to the manufacturer's specifications.

  • Safety skills related to the collision industry
  • Sheet metal welding skills, including (Plastic welding, chemical welding, STRSW Squeeze Type Resistance Spot welding, Plasma cutting, Oxygen Acetylene welding, and Brazing)
  • Body Fillers, including (Fiberglass, Carbon Fiber, and Polyester Glazing Putty)
  • Estimating computer and written
  • Metal and Aluminum straightening techniques
  • Structural repair (Chief frame machine and laser measuring)
  • Non-Structural repair: Basic mechanical repairs, including A/C repair
  • Glass removal and repair
  • Masking and preparation
  • Paint mixing using PPG products, including primers, sealers, and clear coats)
  • Painting and Refinishing, applying top coats, including basic air brushing techniques
  • Detailing
