Program Overview

Program Overview: Small Engine Repair prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and mechanical skills to repair, service, maintain, and diagnose problems on a variety of small internal‐combustion gasoline engines. Equipment such as Lawn mowers, Chainsaws, Dirtbikes, ATVs, and more will be used in this program to demonstrate repairs, maintenance, and operation. This program includes instruction in the principles of the 4 & 2 Stroke internal‐combustion engine and all systems related to the powered unit. Instruction also includes the use of technical and service manuals, care and use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment. Individuals will also learn a variety of skills used in a repair shop, such as safety, communication, proper care of equipment, Invoicing/part lookup, tire changing, welding, electrical, & precise measuring.
